Knitted from the toe up, these socks feature a delicate cable and cross-stitch pattern. The pattern is presented in diagram form for each sock and is very easy to follow and remember.
The heel with gusset (fleegle hell) is a heel that is constructed at the same time as the gusset decreases are made. It is one of the simplest heels to make, worked simply back and forth with regular decreases. 
For this pair of socks, two types of toes are suggested, one formed using German short rows, the other more traditional with increases.
